Case: Commonly used case materials include PC (polycarbonate), ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer) and other plastic materials. These materials are characterized by low density, abrasion resistance, heat resistance, and flame retardancy, and are suitable for use in electronic products that are small in size and light in weight. In order to enhance waterproof performance, the case material may be specially treated or coated with a waterproof coating.

Cover: also made of the above plastic materials, in addition to providing the necessary protection, but also has a certain degree of waterproof and dustproof function.

Shrapnel: The key component to realize the on-off function of the switch, usually made of metal material with good conductivity and flexibility, such as tin phosphor bronze or stainless steel shrapnel. The surface of the shrapnel may be coated with waterproof material or undergo other special treatments to improve the waterproof performance and life. In order to meet the waterproof requirements, shrapnel may also be added to a layer of polyimide film (PAI), which is a material with excellent waterproof performance.

Contacts: The choice of contact material is critical to the electrical performance of the switch, which needs to be characterized by low resistance, wear resistance, and oxidation resistance. Silver alloy is a commonly used contact material, which has the advantages of low resistance, abrasion-resistant texture, high melting point, oxidation resistance, etc., and can meet the electrical performance requirements of waterproof light-contact switches.

Hardware contact foot: there are mainly two materials, one is iron plated nickel, with lower salt spray performance and higher resistance value, suitable for plug-in flick switch with low requirements; the other is copper plated silver, with better oxidation resistance and lower resistance value, suitable for the production of high-quality flick switch.

Waterproof film: generally made of special waterproof materials, such as polyimide film (PAI) or other materials with excellent waterproof performance, which can effectively prevent water from penetrating into the interior of the switch, thus protecting the switch's electrical and mechanical properties.

Plastic base: there are three kinds of materials available, POM material (hard, lowest price, poor temperature resistance, suitable for manual welding), PA66 material (also called nylon material, moderate price, general temperature resistance, suitable for wave soldering), LCP material (the best temperature resistance, but the cost is higher, suitable for reflow soldering).
