Components of Silicone Tactile Switches

Metal Shrapnel or Conductive Rubber: This is one of the core components of the switch, which is used to realize the on-off of the circuit. When the user presses the silicone button, the metal shrapnel or conductive rubber deforms and makes contact with the contacts on the circuit board, thus realizing circuit conduction. When the button is released, the shrapnel or conductive rubber is restored to its original shape and breaks contact with the contacts, thus shutting down the circuit.

Chassis and Pins: The chassis is used to secure and support the other components of the switch and to provide pins for connection to the circuit board. The pins are usually gold-plated or tin-plated to improve conductivity and corrosion resistance.

Working Principle of 4x6 Tactile Switch

The working principle of the switch is similar to that of a general flick switch, which relies on the change of force on the metal shrapnel or conductive rubber to realize on-off. When the user gently presses the silicone button, the internal metal shrapnel or conductive rubber is deformed by the external force and contacts the contacts on the circuit board, thus realizing circuit conduction. After releasing the button, the shrapnel or conductive rubber returns to its original state, disconnects from the contact point, and the circuit is cut off.
