Illuminated switches are primarily categorized into illuminated tact switches and illuminated pushbutton switches.
Illuminated tact switches are switches that activate circuit connections with minimal pressure and feature light indicators. Users simply press the button to operate the switch, while the indicator light (typically an LED) illuminates or turns off to visually display the switch status.
Illuminated Pushbutton Switch: This is the most common type, typically composed of a pushbutton, LED light, and contacts. Pressing the button closes the switch contacts, completing the circuit and illuminating the LED to indicate the switch is on. Pressing the button again opens the contacts, extinguishing the LED to indicate the switch is off. This type is suitable for applications requiring frequent operation, such as televisions, audio equipment, and similar devices.
