Omron Tact Switch is a micro electromechanical switch developed by Omron Corporation, which achieves circuit on/off through short-range pressing. Its core adopts a mechanical contact mechanism between elastic metal contacts and conductive bases, which has the characteristics of high sensitivity, long life, and compact structure. It is widely used in consumer electronics, industrial control, automotive electronics and other fields.

2、 Core parameters

1. Structure and driving performance

Operating force and stroke: Operating force range is 1.6N-3.2N (error ± 10%), triggering stroke is 0.2mm ± 0.1mm, reset stroke is 0.1mm ± 0.05mm.

Example: The B3F series has an operating force of 2.5N ± 0.5N, balancing tactile feedback and anti misoperation requirements.

Contact lifespan: Gold plated/silver alloy contacts have an electrical lifespan of 100000 to 500000 cycles (such as the B3W series which can reach 500000 cycles at 12V/50mA) and a mechanical lifespan of over 1 million cycles.

2. Electrical performance

Rated parameters:

Voltage: 12V DC to 50V DC (some models support 250V AC).

Current: 10mA~50mA (expandable contact capacity).

Example: The B3F-1000 series can withstand 50mA at 12V DC with a contact resistance of ≤ 100m Ω (initial value).

Insulation and withstand voltage: Insulation resistance ≥ 100M Ω (500V DC), withstand voltage ≥ 250V AC (1 minute), in compliance with EMC safety standards.

3. Environmental adaptability

Temperature and humidity range: working temperature -25 ℃~+85 ℃ (extended to -40 ℃~+105 ℃ for industrial grade models), humidity 5%~95% RH (no condensation).

Protection level: IP67 model can be dustproof and waterproof (such as B3S series), anti impact 50G (11ms half sine wave), vibration durability 10Hz~55Hz (1.5mm double amplitude).

Wearable devices: B3W series (SMT patch type) is used for smart watch function keys to meet compact space requirements.

PLC/HMI panel: B3S series (IP67 protection) is used for industrial human-machine interface, anti oil/dust, with a lifespan of up to 500000 times.

Automation equipment: B3F-4000 series (high sensitivity 0.2mm trigger stroke) is used for robot control boxes to quickly respond to commands.

3. Automotive Electronics

Car entertainment system: B3U series has passed AEC-Q200 certification, with a working temperature of -40 ℃ to+105 ℃, suitable for central control screen/steering wheel buttons.

Safety system: B3F series (with an electrical lifespan of 500000 cycles) is used for electronic parking brake (EPB) to ensure stability during emergency operations.

4、 Maintenance and upkeep guide

1. Daily usage standards

Avoid overload: It is strictly prohibited to use beyond the rated current (such as 50mA). It is recommended to connect an external relay to control high current loads.

Dust and Moisture Prevention: In non sealed environments, regularly clean dust with dry compressed air (≤ 0.3MPa) to prevent contact oxidation.

2. Regular maintenance

Contact cleaning: Gently wipe the contacts with an isopropanol cotton swab every 6 months (with power off) to remove oxides.

Travel calibration: Precision equipment (such as medical instruments) should use a force gauge to test the operating force deviation (within ± 10% tolerance) every quarter.

3. Storage conditions

Temperature and humidity control: Store unused switches in an environment with 25 ℃± 5 ℃ and humidity ≤ 60% RH, avoiding PVC packaging (which may release corrosive gases).

Anti static measures: Operators in SMT production need to wear anti-static wristbands (grounding resistance ≤ 1M Ω).

4. Fault handling

Poor contact: If the contact resistance is greater than 500m Ω, the switch needs to be replaced (due to contact wear or foreign object intrusion).

Mechanical jamming: Check for shell deformation or foreign objects, and if necessary, return to the factory for maintenance (Omron provides a 2-year warranty).
