The component features a convenient "push-push" mechanism: push to lock the card in place, and push again to eject it. This ensures a secure retention force that prevents accidental data loss during operation. The housing is constructed from high-temperature thermoplastic to withstand SMT reflow soldering processes. As a versatile card socket, it integrates a card detection switch to wake the host processor upon insertion. Although distinct in form factor from a standard micro sim card connector, engineers often select the TF-2562 for its similar reliability profile and gold-plated contact integrity in consumer electronics and IoT devices.

Push-Push Ejection: The connector utilizes an internal cam and spring system where the user pushes the card inward to latch it securely and pushes it again to release the latch and eject the media.
Electrical Contact: Precision-stamped gold-plated phosphor bronze contacts flex upon insertion to wipe against the card's pads establishing a low-resistance path for data transmission.
Presence Detection: A dedicated mechanical switch lever is physically depressed by the card body when fully inserted closing a circuit to signal the device firmware that media is present.
