Cover Plate: Located at the top of the switch, the cover plate serves as protection and provides an interface for the user to press. For SMD Flat Cover Tactile Switches, the cover plate is usually designed to be relatively flat so that it can be easily mounted on the circuit board.
Pushbutton: This is the part of the switch where the user applies direct external force. When the pushbutton is pressed, it triggers the deformation of the shrapnel inside the switch, which turns the circuit on and off.
Shrapnel: The key component of a tactile switch, whose deformation determines the on/off state of the switch. When the button is pressed, the shrapnel is deformed by the pressure and contacts with the solder lug to energize the circuit; when the external force is withdrawn, the shrapnel is restored to its original state and the circuit is disconnected.
Base: A structural member that supports the other components inside the switch to ensure the stability and reliability of the switch.
Pin: The part of the switch that connects to the circuit board, used to realize the connection of circuits and the transmission of signals.
