The stretch cover of this 6×6 waterproof surface-mount stretch-cover tact switch serves as the “first line of defense for external waterproofing.” Combined with the structural design of the cover plate and base, it collectively achieves the switch's waterproof performance.
1.Physical Sealing Barrier
The stretch cover tightly adheres to the underlying silver-plated copper cover plate/base, forming the first layer of isolation in the “external-internal structure.” This directly blocks liquids, dust, and other foreign substances from entering the switch's internal spring contacts and circuitry.
2.Extended Waterproof Path The three-dimensional structure of the stretch cover (protruding cover body + edge-sealing design) extends the liquid penetration path, reducing the probability of moisture seeping through gaps and enhancing overall waterproof sealing performance.
3.Protection of Spring Contact Area During press operation, the stretch cover is the component directly exposed to the external environment. Its material (typically waterproof PBT plastic) inherently possesses water-resistant properties, preventing direct moisture contact with the internal conductive spring contacts and reducing the risk of short circuits.
