Fluke 101 Slide Switch's Product Operating Principle

Right-Angle Mounting: The switch is mounted flat on the PCB, but its L-shaped pins and side-actuator are designed for access from the edge of the board or through a cutout in the enclosure.
Circuit Path Selection: Sliding the actuator moves an internal contact, connecting the center (common) pin to one of the two outer pins, thereby redirecting the electrical circuit.
Through-Hole Connection: The switch's pins are inserted through holes in a printed circuit board and soldered on the opposite side, providing a very strong mechanical foundation.
